Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later became a morning news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. The journalist's report on the lack of police response to DUI instances in Charleston resulted in an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new direction from the state authorities on DUI cases.
